Here I am entering the year 2015...Ooooh!
I've been through a lot this year as an individual, a wife, a mother and a grandmother. A lot of changes, life adjustments, some soul searching, some learning and some growing. And for my DH, the same. He too has been learning and growing as well (an endeavor we've been doing and going through together).
Well as we close the year 2014 it is with grateful and joyful hearts we look forward to the future that is held for us in this New Year, the year 2015. Our family has overcome a lot this year and we have struggled and strived to make it. The more we fought to move forward the more we had to fight (if you can understand that).

Well as we close the year 2014 it is with grateful and joyful hearts we look forward to the future that is held for us in this New Year, the year 2015. In the past year from Nov. 2013 to Nov. 2014 we have moved twice, became members, greeters and leaders in our church. And now that 2015 is finally here we go into it with excitement expectation and anticipation to see what God will do with our ministry this year.
In the beginning of 2013 God had given us a plan to follow while we were in a very dark place. I wrote it down and shared it with my DH. He was on board and so we begin with God's plan in hand. So, no matter what was happening or going on we managed to complete the entire plan and now we are where we are today going into the new year with a newly created official ministry.
The idea of celebrating marriage came when we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We hosted an event we called "The Celebration of Marriage". It was a formal event. We invited other couples to join us in celebrating marriage as we celebrated such a significant milestone in our own marriage relationship. So from here we adopted the name "The Celebration of Marriage" as a ministry name. And from this event an idea was created and a vision planted.
I must admit, for me, this is so surreal: that if you really do follow the plan God gives you, you really will see it come into reality, as long as you do our part. And we did; and what we got was the promise of a marriage ministry of our own, promised by God. The vision became more clear as I was under going several surgeries in a years time. This vision and ideas that came with it helped me to take the focus off my illnesses and sicknesses, and focus on something worthwhile.
So as we leave 2014 in the past, it is with humble and grateful hearts that we thank God. We thank Him for all that He has done for us and have shown us about Himself, especially, in the last three months of the year. Prayers have been answered and confirmation for moving forward with our marriage ministry has arrived. We have a comfortable place to live now, and reliable transportation. Two things we were in desperate for and was blessed with, by the hand of God, these last three months.
And now, we go into the New Year of 2015 with the vision of our marriage ministry God has given us and making it a reality. (One of my dreams was always to have a ministry of some sort; a recognized ministry.) This is so exciting! The surreal part of all this is that God really would use us (me & DH) and our marriage (of 30+ years) to influence and impact other marriages for the kingdom. Oh what a responsibility this will be!
But, this is also what will keep us in humble prayer to God.

"Not my will be done Father; but your will be done on earth as it is in heaven".
