A Child is Born
=======================================================
"For unto us a Child is Born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of peace."
Isaiah 9:6

"to us a Son is given..."
Without Jesus there would be no hope of an expected future.
Without Jesus there would be no sacrifice, therefore no mercy.
Without Jesus there would be no salvation, therefore only death.
Without Jesus we are forever separated from the Sovereign God and Heavenly Father Who created us.
And without Jesus there would be no Emmanuel, "God with us."
What if Jesus would have said no to the Cross? What do you think the world would be like if he had not sacrificed Himself on our behalf? Where do you think you would be today?
"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given."
Let's look at 2 thing here -
First, A child is born. What does this mean, a child is born? What's the big deal about a child being born? What's so special about this child? There are many children born everyday and we are really only aware of our own children. In the scheme of life a child is a child is a child. Jesus came into this world like every other human being that inhabits this earth. He came as a babe, as an innocent. He came as a human being and progressed through life just like the rest of us. Think about what he was making himself susceptible to by becoming human.
So why does the story say, "to us a child is born"? What is so significant about this child? Well, Jesus was born out of the love God had for his creation. The tribulation of this world brought forth a child. A child born out of our own depravity. "To us" Jesus was born as one of us so that he would fulfill all that was required and prophesied about Him. This way He would fulfill God's law and man's as well. Being born as a child, a small babe was and is the natural law of childbirth by water and blood only to be followed by the shedding of His own blood and water given as a sacrifice for the sins of the world. To those who do not know God or of Jesus, another child being born really is just another child born.
Second, "...to us a son is given...". This tells us that Jesus belonged to someone. He was born into a family. He was someone's son. He was Mary's son. Jesus was not only the Son of God, He was also the son of Mary, whom God chose as His mother. He was a Son given to be sacrificed for the sins and iniquities of this world. He was the Son given up to be the escape-goat by which we would "be called sons and daughters of the most high God".
Jesus was someone's son. He was God's Son whom He gave to us as a child to be the one to make everything right among those who would in His Son's name. Jesus was God's Son whom God was well pleased with. Jesus is the Son of Almighty God. He is a King's son, therefore a Prince to be crowned king among of this world in His own right.

What did it take for God to ask Jesus, His Son, to be born a babe, then die for us, His creation, who has messed the world with evilness and sin? How did God feel knowing what He was asking of His dear Son?
Then on the other hand, what did Jesus feel when His Father asked this of Him? What were His thoughts on the subject of dying for a people who have no regard for God or the sanctity of life? (it was no better then than it is now where life is concerned.)

With all these questions asked, God had already set things in motion way before the beginning of this world or even time. He saw the end and the beginning and made provision for both. This is why God is the Alpha and the Omega!
We must remember that it was God who crowned Jesus King. God gave Jesus, His Son all His glory, power, authority and sovereignty to commend Him for doing such an enormous and great deed, in sacrificing Himself for those who did not (& even do not) deserve to be saved.
Salvation was prophesied in the bible to come through Jesus Christ. God lets us know in the bible that when the time was right there was a child born, a son given for all of our sin and the world's. From the beginning of time and the creation of the world, God had a plan in place. He planned to redeem His people, His creation, from the beginning. And He accomplished this through the birth of a child entering into the world; giving to us a Son called Immanuel "God with us". This was done so that we might find redemption and have the right to be called children of God; the sons and daughters of the Most High God.
