"I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
Well, we were able to pull off Easter weekend. Our plan for Sunday service and getting the entire family there was awesome! It felt so good to have and see our entire family attend church service all at the same time, even down to the grandchildren....which is why this verse came to mind.
Many years ago I discovered this verse. I was having a real hard time understanding the concept of God being good when so much evil and been was and had happened to me. I just couldn't understand it! But when it was time for me to take a chance on God it was time to take a chance on everything He said in the bible. I had to learn how to believe that the words in the bible really are God's words and we must believe them whole heartedly if we want to see His good ness manifest in our lives.
This Easter I have been blessed with seeing the goodness of God in the land of the living. All the hard times, all the times I wanted to just throw my hands up and give up, all the stressing and straining on my mothers heart all I ever wanted was to see my children come to the full knowledge of Christ and what He's done for us.
Just having my entire family in church all at the same time fulfilled the promise above. My heart has been warmed and humbled by God's glorious glory and love. I have seen the goodness of God in the land of the living. No one can really fathom the truth behind this verse and also waiting on God.
You see when you wait on God things happen in His timing and not yours or mine. He prepares the person and moves things around in their lives that will position them for Him to do what He does and that is send down His love mercy and grace which makes the way for His blessing, goodness and kindness to flow freely in our lives.
I've held on to this verse when things were bleak and dark. Times when I could not see the past, present or future. When the storms rage and the lightening claps demanding that I respond out of ear and anxiety, I know I will not die until I see the goodness of God in my life. When I am in the valey of the shadow of death, I am confident that I will see the goodness of God manifest in my life while I am still living.
There are not a lot of promises that I hold on to and demand a response (as long as I'm doing what I'm suppose) from God. No, these are times when I have to get demanding with myself in holding on, in believing, and in trusting that what God says will come true. Believing His Word and what is written in the bible is His conversation to us as His children and His people.
What happened this Easter Sunday was the manifestation of "God's goodness in my land of the living." I thank Him and am so grateful that He is Sovereign and Christ is King and Savior because without Them there would be no goodness to wait for or see.

God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the Son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall He not make it good... Numbers 23:19 KJV.
Meditation
"...so My word that comes from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and will prosper in what I send it [to do]."
Isa. 55:11
